We recognise that for a number of reasons a customer may wish to supply their own materials either partially or in full. Our Logistics and procurement team are well accustomed with managing these requests and phasing any transitions between a free-issue and materials supplied model.
When deciding on the procurement strategy for your build we would consider the following;
Free-issue materials is sometimes considered to be an economic strategy when outsourcing electronics manufacturing. However, it’s important to consider the full costs of such an approach. There is of course the function of procuring the materials and the time required to do this for the customer. Additionally considerations regarding MOQ’s, managing deliveries to the CEM in-line with build slots, resolving any material issues that may arise, additional freight charges, warranty of the assembled finished goods.
